Dr Christina Sun-Edelstein MD FRACP is a neurologist with subspecialty training and expertise in Headache Neurology. She completed her neurology training at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, and later a headache fellowship at St Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital’s Headache Institute. Prior to relocating to Australia in 2009 she worked at the New York Headache Center. She is currently a consultant at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and runs the Headache Clinic there. Her clinical practice is solely focused on Headache and she has 15+ years of experience managing patients with complex headache disorders.
Christina has received awards from the Headache Cooperative of New England, the American Academy of Neurology and the American Headache Society. She has published numerous articles in medical journals including Cephalalgia, Headache and Current Pain and Headache Reports and serves as an ad hoc reviewer for peer-reviewed journals. She has also co-authored several headache topics in the online medical reference UpToDate® as well chapters in headache textbooks, most recently the Oxford Textbook of Headache Syndromes.
Christina is actively involved in numerous headache education and outreach projects aimed at increasing awareness of headache disorders and improving treatment and quality of life for patients with headaches. She has lectured on migraine management and other headache-related topics at GP conferences and in patient-targeted forums such as Migraine & Headache Awareness Week. Christina also presents regularly at Australia/NZ Headache Society (ANZHS) conferences.
