Dr Kevin Young
Pain Specialist & Rehabilitation Physician
Dr Young completed his undergraduate medical degree at the University of Melbourne. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine of the College of Physicians and a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anesthetist’s. He has worked in various major Victorian centres specialising in the rehabilitation of spinal cord injuries, amputations, traumatic brain injuries, orthopaedic trauma and neurological conditions including multiple sclerosis.
Dr Young currently works at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and a number of private hospitals in Melbourne as a Specialist in Pain Management and Rehabilitation Medicine. He is the co-head of the amputation rehabilitation service at Royal Melbourne Hospital and is involved in post-graduate research with a special interest in rehabilitation and interventional management of chronic post-amputation pain and neuropathic pain syndromes.
Dr Young is involved with the education of medical students, interns and registrars at Royal Melbourne Hospital and contributes to the clinical practice curriculum in the University of Melbourne undergraduate medical degree program. He is a member of the Australian Pain Society and is a presenter at conferences and courses to various specialists, general practitioners and allied health practitioners.
